Hunting in Hunting Reserves |
Besides national parks and wildlife reserves the government of Nepal has also set aside a hunting reserve, where controlled hunting of some species is allowed. In the country, controlled hunting is allowed with proper license and certain seasons of the year and the Hunting license is issued by the Department of National Park and Wildlife Conservation in Kathmandu. Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve (1325sq km) is one of the most popular Hunting Reserves of Nepal and attracts sports hunters for the highly coveted blue sheep and other game animals such as Leopard, Ghoral, Serow, Himalayan Thar, Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Dear, and Wild Boar and so on. Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve lies in the Baglung district of Dhaulagiri Himalayan range.
